+ Give your child a variety of smaller choices on things that don’t matter as much or might affect their comfort levels. For instance, “do you want to wear your striped or polka dot shirt today?” or “Will it be yellow or pink sunglasses this afternoon?”

+ Does your child insist on wearing dresses or sandals daily, but you worry they might get cold? Be flexible with their preferences and prepare accordingly. Pair their dress with leggings underneath or pack a pair of socks in their backpack.

+ Make it a game! Set a timer, and if they finish getting dressed in time, give them a chip or a sticker which they can later trade in for a prize.
